Aloha Nimitz ‘Ohana,
We hosted our annual Career Day on November 5-6, 2015 which helped to promote college, career, and citizenship readiness and incorporated the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) philosophy where our students can develop the skills, character, and knowledge they will need to be successful in their post-secondary endeavors.
Thanks to our upper grade counselor, Ms. Kurisu for taking the lead in coordinating the Career Day. We were able to recruit a variety of speakers with the help from our lower grade counselor, Ms. Ama and PCNC, Mrs. Saavedra. We also want thank our speakers/volunteers who shared their expertise and “gift of time” with our students.
We look forward to seeing you at our December activities such as the “Charlie Brown Holiday Family Night of Fun! - Reading with Santa” on Friday, December 4, 2015. There will be holiday “make and take” crafts, storytelling, and refreshments for the entire family. Join us on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 for our annual Jingle Bell Fun Run as we promote fitness along with school spirit. Don’t forget to wear Christmas colors and lots of bells.
Due to the overwhelming attendance of our Winter Program, we will have two performances on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 8:30 am and 12:30 pm. This will allow ample seating in the cafeteria as well as parking in the back field. Please attend the show that is assigned to your child’s grade so we can evenly divide the attendance. Both shows will include all grade levels performing.
On behalf of our Nimitz School Faculty and Staff, we would like to wish your family a joyful holiday season and a prosperous 2016!
